Welcome!

Welcome to Your Poetry Writing Happy Place!

Word Craft Poetry is an uplifting community where poets can learn the basics of writing Japanese and American syllabic poetry by sharing their own poetic inspiration within a weekly poetry challenge called #TankaTuesday.

Participants submit their poetry written in one of these forms: haiku, senryu, haiga, tanka, gogyohka, haibun, tanka prose, renga, solo renga, cinquain, and its variations, Etheree, nonet, shadorma, badger hexastich, and Abhanga; or a form from the poetscollective.org. Poets receive positive feedback from peers who inspire each other to stretch their creativity. Participants and readers return each week to celebrate the weekly poetry stars recap each Monday.

Join me and learn how to write syllabic poetry! Word Craft: Prose & Poetry is available in print and ebook versions on Amazon.com.

  1. As I scrolled down dear Colleen, I saw the title Breathe in Poetry…. Oh how I breathe it in…. For when it flows it is breath itself…

Wonderful dear Colleen to be back here within WP again after my very long absense… So much and yet so little happening in the Dreamwalker world…
But so happy to be among friends and sisters again…
Sending love and well wishes Colleen…. and many thanks for your most welcome comment to welcome me back..

    1. Sue, I’m so happy to see you back again. I know those long breaks are needed. Keep spreading your light… there are so many that need “us” to help uplift the darkness this season. ❤

  2. Wow, it has been ages since I did some poetry … since painting took first place, and not pottery second place, and jornaling (actually that mostly is first place) I have very little time left for poetic words …

      1. I see. This has never happened before. What shows up as I press ‘send ‘ is ‘Error. Please fill in required fields’. But there are no required fields as far as I am concerned. This is happening with two other blogs I subscribe to, but I have managed to make contact with them, so let’s see what happens…
