#TankaTuesday #Poetry Stars No. 295 |#ThemePrompt

Welcome to our weekly poetry stars’ celebration. This week’s challenge was to write our choice of syllabic poem, using a form from the cheat sheet or a syllabic form from the Poetscollective.org, using the theme from Anita:

I appreciate all of you who found the time to join in this challenge. I could not join in this week. Some weeks I just have too much on my plate. Read more HERE.

Update: They’ve removed my great-granddaughter, Oakley, from the ventilator. Her heart surgery is scheduled for this upcoming Thursday. Here’s a photo of my granddaughter Alexandria, holding Oakley on Friday—the first time she felt her mother’s arms around her.

Ok… I’ve got all the personal business out of the way.

I really loved the poetry this week. “What do we wish for? ” is a provocative question. I’ll find time this week to write my poem that attempts to answer this question. It’s all a matter of perspective. We all wish and dream of something a little different. Peace and compassion topped this list!

In the spirit of Halloween, I’ve chosen Franci’s Etheree, “Bedraggled Wishes” to feature this week.

while sulky mist wanders through bare-boned trees

mournful crows lend shrill mythic caws their

sinister chants assault the air

as ungathered secrets bow

to once wished-upon stars

and eerie dreams of

Halloween, the

old crow caws

at the

moon
