#TankaTuesday Weekly Poetry Challenge No. 279: #Tastetherainbow-Color/Weather Poetry

Hello everyone. Happy JULY! I’m thrilled to see everyone once again! I need a vacation from my vacation! The second-floor flooring has all been replaced. No more yucky old carpet. I’ve got a break for a week and then the contractor begins work on the two bathrooms. It’s a busy summer!

Now, let’s get back to writing poetry together!

This week, choose your own syllabic form and a color to feature in your syllabic poem. But, let’s add a little something else to make it special! This week, along with a color, add some weather to your poem. You can find some ideas HERE.

If the form is from the #TankaTuesday cheat sheet, let us know so we know where to look for directions. If it’s a new form, share how to write it and where you found the instructions. Think about the different ways you can use color in a poem.

    1. Thanks, Diana. I missed everyone. I’m exhausted and have come back to my office to recuperate from that vacation. This was like moving all over again with the shifting of furniture up and down stairs, and the packing away of things… but the floors look amazing. My knees will heal. LOL! ❤

  1. Welcome back, Colleen. I’ve tried a new form, taking inspiration from Ronovan’s Wednesday Sigo Challenge. It’s a Korean syllable poetry form, hope you like my effort. Thanks. 🙂

          1. No he’s had a throat and chest infection since May 2021, then it attacked his ears a couple of months back , it cleared but came back after the covid. He has had phone calls with the surgery Paramedic but no one qualified actually looked in his ears until yesterday when after fourteen months of troubles he saw a Dr! He has another spray, antibiotics and steroids from the paramedic have not worked. So it’s fingers crossed 💜

          4. I’m worn out from the house renovations, my knees hurt, but otherwise the second phase of the renovations start Monday with the bathrooms. I’ll be glad when this is all over with. My hubby is disabled, so I try to keep things going. You know how it is. LOL! ❤

  2. Colleen – stay positive. All will be just beautiful when done. 🙂
Our work hasn’t been scheualed yet. But we’ve picked out some colors, new flooring etc.
I long for my kitchen to be in full repair. Not that I’m a great cook, but having the contents in three different rooms doesn’t make things easy… I’ll live.

      1. We had a pipe under the sink… we couldn’t turn something… had to get that repaired.
Better to get these things taken care of. We wouldn’t have known about that issue if we didn’t have to take our dishwasher out of its place. Ugh!

          1. The plastic outlet hose is only supposed to last for ten years. And then it should get replaced. I could tell you stories…about dishwasher hoses!

          2. This is the black rubber hose that connects to the pvc pipe drainage. I’m sure it’s as old as the house. Nothing was ever fixed in this house. The appliances were so bad that we didn’t use them. We had to replace them immediately. It was a real fiasco during Covid trying to get appliances. We’re still waiting for the plumber… 🤦🏼‍♀️

          3. Our repairs will be done in stages too. Hopefully the most of the kitchen first, as the floor is getting replaced, then the hall.
But that crew isn’t doing the baseboards, a different crew will be doing that.

Downstairs ceiling protected and then along with the all the walls new paint. While not due to our main issue since the room downstairs is getting completely emptied, we’ll be replaceing the carpeting there which is over thirty years old.

Always something. Thankfully the insurance we’ve paid into over the years is covering most of the replacement damage.

Hope your plumber arrieved and fixed it.

          4. Oh, I know about those repairs. This house will be brand new inside when we’re finished this summer. The plumber replaced the piece we needed and it was a great price. Next year they will come and check it all out again. So worth it. ❤

          5. We were thinking about replacing some dishwasher parts, maybe even the whole unit. But in the end we are just putting the old one (less than 10 years old) because it really is OK. But Hubby is fixing the electric wire and plug since it wasn’t installed correctly the first time.

Now we are just waiting for supplies and man power… for the work to begin.

I’m having trouble with WordPress, and it won’t let me post a link on Mr. Linky, although when I try to redo it, it says I’ve already done it…
    I’ll try again later.
