Daily haiku: 4/29/22

purple lilacs—
the fragrance of springtime
at the ball park

  1. Or at my side gate… Our neighbor’s lilac bushes have been there for over half a century and they bloom right at the gate that leads into our backyard. My mother took great delight cutting them for her diningroom table every week. There were so many on the bushes, her cuttings never seemed to make a dent.


  2. Before a neighbor moved out of state, she gave me some lilac starts… I was hoping the would allow some to remain. I’ve found at least one. I maye have another. But they are too small to be blooming yet.


      1. How long does it take a transplant to bloom? The little one I have that is growing isn’t but two to three feet tall. And it is barely a twig. 🙂
