#TankaTuesday #Poetry Stars No. 268 | #TastetheRainbow Color Poetry

Welcome to our weekly poetry stars’ celebration. This week’s challenge was to write our choice of syllabic poem, including a color, using a form from the cheat sheet or a syllabic form from the Poetscollective.org.

I’ve settled on the date for Word Craft Syllabic Poetry Contest. The contest date is June 21st, 2022, the Summer Solstice. So mark your calendars. The royalties from the Word Weaving Poetry Journal will pay for this contest. There will be a first, second, and third place award paid through PayPal.

I’ll announce more about the contest at a later date and we’ll discuss more about payment options then. There will be no poetry challenge the week of June 21, 2022 to accommodate time for the contest.

Many thanks to everyone who joined in below:

Each month, I look forward to the first challenge of the month, which features color poetry. Remember, we can use color as a metaphor. Color is a powerful tool in your poet’s toolbox.

Denise’s tanka prose was powerful! I also enjoyed Donna’s haibun. There’s something about the color of Gerber daisies that just makes you happy! Robbie shares a wonderful tanka. Willow’s abhanga series left with some warm feelings.

Great job, everyone!

See you tomorrow for the new challenge!
