Welcome to our weekly poetry stars’ celebration. This week’s challenge was to write our choice of syllabic poem featuring the theme of “fire & Water” and using a form from the cheat sheet or a syllabic form from the Poetscollective.org.
What a week it’s been! WordPress is working on deleting the domain and blog at colleenchesebro.com. There was something wrong with that blog from the start. I have moved all of my posts here to wordcraftpoetry.com.
My husband had surgery on Friday. He’s doing well and recuperating. Yesterday, in a freak accident, I broke my glasses. Thank goodness my closeup glasses weren’t damaged, or I wouldn’t be blogging until I replaced them. Sometimes all you can do is laugh at yourself and move on. ❤️ 🤦🏼♀️ 😂
I didn’t have time to take part this week, so many thanks to everyone who joined in below:

Theme challenges are always so fun. This week, I chose Yvette Calleiro, to select next month’s theme.

This week, I’ve asked Yvette to choose the theme prompt for next month’s challenge. Please email your words to me at least a week before the challenge to colleen@wordcraftpoetry.com. Thanks.

Wow! What a week you had, Colleen! I am glad your husband is on the mend and sorry about your glasses. I had issues with an old domain, as well. I had emptied the blog some time ago but the domain still existed. It was attached to an old email address and was my first domain before I changed the name to amanpan. WP helped me delete it.

Yes… this was my first domain and blog. I moved around quite a bit, so I’m sure that has had something to do with it. I’ve still not heard from WP. They must be busy. I finally found a theme that has black text! Colinear and it works. I ordered a new pair of glasses today. What a fiasco! My hubby is on the mend. ❤

It’s that gray print that drives me nuts. It’s hard to see! 😂🥸👓

Me too, Colleen! I turn on my dark screen feature if I can’t read the print. I bought blue block glasses and they help me tremendously with white screens but they don’t help with a light gray print. 😎

Same for me. That gray print is annoying! 😂

How exciting to see my poem featured here, Colleen! I am honored that you chose mine out of so many wonderful poems. 🙂 Please let me know by when you’ll need the new theme. I’m just now beginning a journey with glasses, and I’m a bit resistant. I know eventually they will become an absolute necessity, but I’m being a spoiled child right now about them. Lol! I hope your husband’s surgery wasn’t anything too serious. Sending healing energy his way. 🙂

Thanks so much Yvette. Your poem was perfect for the theme. I’ll need your theme idea before the 25th of April. I just ordered a new pair of glasses today. You’ll get used to them. Huge hugs from me. ❤

Thanks so much, Sally. It was quite an event, my glasses breaking… I’ve got a bump on the eyebrow as well. Now, I’m laughing. LOL! 😀

Speedy recovery to your husband! I’ve broken my glasses too many times to count…although now, I can’t read at all without them so I sympathize with that aspect. I hope all is resolved with the blog soon, too. (K)

Thanks Kerfe. Ron is doing well. I’ve got my computer glasses so that really helps. WP is still working on the other blog. It won’t let me delete the old domain or the blog, so I’m still waiting. I finally found a blog theme with black fonts! I can’t stand those shades of gray font! It’s hard to read. 😂💖👓🥸

I agree. WP makes things overly complex. But we persevere. (K)
