Hello everyone! Welcome to Colleen’s Coffee Klatch. Where I grew up, the Kaffee klatsch was all the rage. Folks (mostly women) would get together, share a cup of coffee, and catch up on their lives. Thanks so much for stopping by to share a cup of coffee and a chat. Whenever I can, I like […]

The snow, rough and windswept in places, makes my peaceful walk evaporate. At the park, thick ice seals the sky’s reflections on the pond, reminding me of the places in my heart where I hide the old draconian memories. Like shadows, I keep those emotions in the dark, so they never take hold. It’s time […]

Imbolc is the third sabbat holiday, using Samhain as the starting point for the beginning of the Pagan new year. We celebrate this sabbat between January 31st and February 2nd. Imbolc is found at the midway point between the Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. In many regions, it was regarded as a season unto itself, […]

I’d missed this review over at Debby’s and couldn’t agree more with her praise for the book. Clear, complete, and full of beautiful examples of syllabic poetry forms in action. Congrats, Colleen.

Thanks, Diana. You’re lovely comment gave me a huge smile. I hope everyone tries crafting syllabic poetry at least once or twice. It’s so fun to write, it’s addictive! LOL! ❤

Congratulations on the review, Colleen! I’m about halfway through the book, and I’m finding the comprehensive discussion of haiku in particular fascinating.

Oh… thank you! I want to write a book just about haiku and senryu and dive into what Basho and the others did with the form. There’s also a spiritual connection to these Japanese forms that is worth exploring. ❤
