This week, Sally Cronin provided our poetry challenge theme prompt. She selected, “the night sky.” What a fabulous theme! In this topsy-turvey world we live in, remember to keep striving for the good.
Tonight, the sky is awash with dark featherlike clouds whose wispy edges obscure the sparkle of the celestial show. Saguaro cactus, the sentinels of the desert, stand erect as if to guard against my innermost thoughts and fears: Covid-19 has now spread throughout the world.
How will this all end? We are merely pawns in the hands of a man who promised to protect us, and he has not kept his word. I feel myself choke as fear knots in my throat.
Above, a bright star tumbles toward the horizon. Without thinking, I reach for the light.
the new world order our souls remain connected searching for answers our spirits find each other to create new hopes and dreams
We can make it through this crisis, together. Turn on your computer and write some poetry.

The cactus plants do look like sentinels. There are bad people (like that man), but there are also many good ones.
Yes… that’s how I feel. It’s disturbing on one front, but I keep looking for the good in the situation. I think we all have to do this. How are you doing, Denise?
I’m trying to find my groove. I’m working through it. ☺️
A wonderful tanka Colleen with a powerful message.. I hope that this will pass soon and that in the aftermath people will make better choices about everything, including those they choose to lead us..♥♥

True… that’s why I never give up hope and reach for the light. It’s all we can do. <3

Merril is right, there are more good people than bad. May those spirits unite and prevail. (K)
Yup! Stay in the light, Kerfe. We got this! ❤️
I just finished watching the news. I’m going to take your advice and write some poetry. In the meantime, I’ll hang onto your tanka.
Thanks so much, Liz. We’ll get through it together. ❤️

I wish that more than anything. So many blindly follow, as if they’ve forgotten how to think for themselves. I always hold hope. ❤️
