WELCOME TO TANKA TUESDAY!
I apologize for all the trouble. This is a REPOST of the original challenge post from this morning. The sharing buttons are missing and I can’t get them to show up. The issue has to do with the new editor and the fact that I copied the post. Apparently that is a no-no. Is the Gutenberg editor cursed?
Let’s see if this works. Please let me know if you still do not see sharing buttons. I can’t see them in the preview.
Link your poetry to either post. I’ll check both of them. ❤

Hi! I’m glad to see you here. Are you ready to write some syllabic poetry?
Here are your two words for this week:
FALL & GIVE
HERE’S THE CATCH: You can’t use the prompt words! SYNONYMS ONLY!
Check the thesaurus for different meanings of these words. The word fall is a homonym.
PLEASE support the other poets by visiting their blogs and leaving comments. Sharing each other’s work on social media is always nice too.
This challenge is for Haiku, Senryu, Haiga, Tanka, Haibun, Etheree, Nonet, Shadorma, and Cinquain poetry forms. Freestyle rhyming poetry is not part of this challenge. Thank you. ❤
For Colleen’s Weekly Poetry Challenge, you can write your poem in one of the forms defined below. Click on the links to learn about each form:
CINQUAIN & the variations on Cinquain-Wikipedia
Here are some great sites that will help you write your poetry and count syllables
This site even has a link so you can install the extension on Google Chrome.
For Synonyms and Antonyms. When your word has too many syllables, find one that works.
Find out how many syllables each word has. I use this site to compose my poems. Click on the “Workshop” tab, then cut and paste your poetry into the box. Click the Count Syllables button on the button. This site does the hard work for you.

THE RULES
I will publish the Tuesday prompt post at 12: 03 A.M. Mountain Standard Time (Phoenix, AZ). That should give everyone time to see the prompt from around the world. I publish the RECAP on Monday and it will contain the poetry from the Poet of the Month and any Honorable Mentions.
You have one week to complete the Challenge with a deadline of Sunday, at 12:00 P.M. (Noon) Phoenix, AZ, U. S. A.
The rules are simple
Follow the schedule listed below:

Please do a LINK-BACK to this challenge by copying the https:// address of this post into your own.

As time allows, I will visit your blog, comment, and TWEET your POETRY. I have also been sharing some of your poetry on Facebook.
If you add these hashtags to your post TITLE on your blog (depending on which poetry form you use) your poetry may be viewed more often:
#Haiku, #Senryu, #Haiga, #Tanka, #micropoetry, #poetry, #5lines, #Haibun, #Prose, #CinquainPoetry, #Etheree, #Nonet, #Shadorma
You may copy the badge I have created to go with the Weekly Poetry Challenge Post and place it in your post. It’s not mandatory:

Buttons are there, Sis. You’re not the only one with blog issues. Others have been complaining about missing content. I’ll bet WP ran an update and now they’re playing dumb. Oh, wait, maybe not playing. 🙄

What a mess. I’m going to upgrade and get a theme that’s made for the new editor. It’s part of the issue WP said – between the two editors. 🤔☔️

That’s a poor excuse. Sounds like they’re trying to get more money out of us instead of fixing the issue. I’m still using the classic. If they remove it, I riot!!

Well, I got used to the new editor now so I don’t want to go back. See, I don’t like change either. LOL! 😀

This time the share buttons were there. How odd! I hope it all gets sorted, Colleen.

What a mess. Why have features that don’t work? 🤔❤️

Still in the snag stage I am afraid and when they tweak Gutenberg everyone, especially on external sites has to catch up to be compatible. xx♥

There are many themes available now for gutenberg. This block system is used by other blog sites, so this is probably the wave of the future. The editor isn’t bad. I do like it. I just want it to work. LOL! 😀

Quite.. I am sure it will sort itself out soon. xx

I’ve had issues with the reblog button disappearing along with others, however, the problem seems to have cleared up for me just recently. I use the new editor and find it takes time to get used to but it has many cool features.

I agree. I like the new editor. I just hate when the features don’t work. 😂

Me too! WP is still getting the bugs out.

It won’t be fixed until the old editor is gone. That is what is causing all the trouble. People will go insane when that happens! 😂❤️

I started using the new editor early on because it was easier to learn it one step at a time and not feel rushed. I think WP is trying to make it more adaptable as they populate their revisions. With that said, revisions can cause issues, and so it goes.

LOL! I like to stay on top of technology. Once I started using the new editor I liked it. The issue has always been that the two editors clash and cause problems. I can see it phasing out soon.
