This week for my Tanka Tuesday Challenge, I’ve done something a little different. I’m participating in a Facebook Event called, Authors Against Domestic Violence, October 4, 2018, with D. G. Kaye, Writer.com (Debby Gies) at 5:30 PM MST.

In honor of this event, I wrote a double Tanka to celebrate the power of women!
Goddesses Unite!
Call out your superpowers.
Be invincible,
ignite your intuition,
brain power, and inner strength.
Stop the secrecy—
Speak, and have your voices heard.
Together we change
from victims of violence
into heroines of courage.

Hugs and love, Sister Adele. <3
To you too, sister. <3
What a fabulous and empowering tanka Sis. Wonderful post. Can’t wait <3
Thank you. The whole event is quite inspiring. <3
Yes it is. Especially on a day like today!!! <3
Outstanding poem, Colleen.
Thanks, Robbie. I couldn’t say it all in one Tanka. 😀 <3
My poem for national poetry day was also a series of tanka’s – four in all.
Nice! I love how tanka’s can a longer poem. They are perfect for that. ❤️

Oh, oh, the post disappeared.
I see that… I’ll have to reach out to WP to find out why and repost I guess. Not sure what’s going on…
We’ve all had issues. Thanks for trying to share. <3
Ok ~ let me try this again…
Good job, Colleen! As you know, I’ve written several books about violence against women (and children and men)–not only domestic violence, but all types of sexual assault. This sounds like a great event.
So, here’s another tanka for you. 🙂
Words can inspire,
dare others to dream of light,
dismiss the shadows
if you can, discover strength,
it is there inside you now
I love it, Merril. Your words give women hope! I hope you can pop in this evening. <3
Not sure if I’ll be able to, but maybe. 🙂
No worries. <3
very nice
I like that, heroines of courage. <3
I'd say have fun at the party but with the subject matter that may not be appropriate. Instead, I'll say, much success!
LOL! Thanks. I hope you stop by when Debby and I are ‘on!’ We’ll be all goddessed up! 😀 <3

So much secret sorrow…and so many brave people finally speaking out. Your words are powerful. (K)
Thank you. We have to stand up to this treatment… for the women that follow after us. <3

Hi Colleen! Wow! Very inspiring and empowering double Tanka. I LOVED it! We also need better laws in place to help and protect victims of Domestic Violence. Too many times these victims have spoken out only to be brushed aside and that could only make their situation worse. Thanks for creating awareness, my friend. <3 xx
I agree, Vashti. Women must speak out. 🎃🧡🎃🧡🎃🧡
