Crafting Poetry One Syllable at a Time
I LOVE The Vikings, on the History Channel. I’ve always been pleased how the writers have tried to stick to historical truths. Ellen Lloyd, from AncientPages.com has uncovered some new information. Enjoy. ❤
Share this: Ellen Lloyd – AncientPages.com – There are so many striking historical similarities between Ivar the Boneless and Ímar that some scholars suggest these two Vikings were in fact one and the same person. If that is true, it’s time to re-write the history of Ivar the Boneless. Interestingly, Ímar vanished for unknown reasons from the […]

I love this show too! And we’ve looked up quite a bit of the history as part of our enjoyment. Thanks for sharing, Colleen. 🙂

I was tickled to find out my husband’s family’s DNA was Viking. We’ve had some great laughs over it all. My hubby is 6′ 7″ and his brother almost as tall. 😀 ❤

That’s hysterical. We did our DNA thing and I’m 26% Scandinavian, so I’m claiming Viking heritage too. LoL (Even though I’m really short!)

LOL. I want to do mine. It should come back as German/Russian. That’s what I’ve been told. How cool! My hubby’s family was like 50% Scandinavian. We all got a good laugh! 😀

It’s fun, Colleen. My husband is African American and yet his DNA includes Scandinavian too. Those Vikings!

LOL! My husband’s first wife was Thai. He had two daughters that I helped to raise. Then, the oldest daughter married an African American man – so the granddaughter’s there are Thai, African-American, and white. My first husband was part Seminole Indian. Two of my kids really reflect my European heritage (light hair, eyes, skin). My middle daughter is darker skinned with dark eyes and hair. She got all the Native American. Her children are quite a mixture as their dad was English! 😀 Isn’t genetics grand? I love it. We are a blended people as Americans. I’m proud of that. ❤

I agree. I’m in mourning by the way… I finished the last book of the Rose Shield series. I have reviews to write but I am missing all the characters… 😦 ❤

My husband’s father was pure Danish. The “Viking” side of the family is indeed unusually tough–strong in body and in will.

An interesting comparison that would make me believe that they were one and the same. How horrible that Ragnar Lodbrok tried to murder his son Ivar The Boneless. Love and Hugs. 💗💗💗

My ancestors were Irish/English. I think many people with similar lineage probably have a smidge of Viking in them! They were everywhere…
