The first thing I remember is snuggling in my grandmother’s arms. She always smelled like apple kuchen. When the dark dreams threatened, she was always there. Gram, a Swedish immigrant who married a Russian/German immigrant, set out to farm the great dust bowl of Kansas. My gramps wasn’t a farmer, but bootlegging liquor called his […]

LOL! Yup… a storm blew into Colorado Springs Friday night and through yesterday. Most of the snow went south of us. Yes! The winds howled and the little bit of snow we did get is covered in a dirty grime! The sun is out today and by next weekend we will be 75 degrees. Fingers crossed. ❤

Snow? I must say, that would NOT have me smiling these days. Although, your haiku DID bring a smile to my heart.

Yeah, actually we didn’t get that much snow. Only 3 inches maybe. It was the wind that was crazy. So, last night at 2:02 a.m. we start hearing a beep! One of the smoke detector batteries had worn out. It wouldn’t quit – they are all wired to the house. So, out Ron went to Walmart for batteries… Needless to say, between the wind howling and the dang smoke detectors we didn’t sleep very well. But, it is kind of funny! (Eye-roll) 😀

Sorry spring has not sprung for you yet, Colleen. One of my FB friends posted a video of the thunder snow they got there a few days ago.
Lovely photo, but I guess you would think it’s lovelier if it happened a few months ago.

LOL! True! We mostly got wind. I don’t mind the snow as much as the wind! 🌬❄️
