Welcome to my contribution to my weekly #Tanka Tuesday poetry challenge. This week, I tweaked the prompt word of “charm” to “allure,” and I changed “touch” to “touches.” Both words have many connotations and can modify the meaning of your Tanka poetry in many ways. I also used the photo as my inspiration. ❤
Don’t be afraid to experiment with synonyms. Sometimes subtle meanings pack the most punch in your poetry. Play with the words for different reactions. The best poetry has layers of meaning.

The golden star child –
spreading her hidden allure,
she breathes compassion.
Her healing gift touches me,
surrounding me with her love.

I like the idea of looking at optional meanings of words. It gives the reader a different perspective. Changing our focus from time-to-time is a good idea.

I so agree. Your choice of words can really enhance your poetry and your writing. Thesaurus.com is a favorite site of mine. 😀

Thanks, Pat. I tried to write it on Tuesday. Couldn’t come up with a single word. That night I dreamed of the star child and the words flowed. ❤️
