Out of the Dragon’s Lair – A Haiku

The RonovanWrites #Weekly #Haiku #Poetry Prompt #Challenge #95 words are: “Dragon & Invite.” Fantasy images are dancing in my head!

What a fabulous visual I get of dragons, their scaly tails wiping the air as the heavy beating of their wings is heard far below. I can see the terror exploding in the eyes of the people witnessing the sight. A smell of brimstone drapes across the land. The inevitability of it all leaves the people resigned to their fate. There in only one who can save them… The Dragon Slayer!

The summons is clear –

as dragon wings lash the air,

our demise is near.
