I saw on the weather broadcast for Thanksgiving Day that northern California was finally receiving some relief from the drought. Heavy snowfall was falling in an attempt to remedy some of the worst drought conditions ever recorded in our history.
Ronovan’s words for the week are “life and give,” quite fitting for Thanksgiving week. As a tribute to this devastating drought, these words came to mind:
“Crystal Snowflakes”
We can only hope that the devastation that this drought has wrought on the land will soon end. That is something that we all can be thankful for.
Thanks for stopping by to visit. I loved seeing all of you!

Lovely image in your haiku Colleen.
Thanks, Marje. This was our big blizzard from a couple weeks ago. It is snowing lightly today. Nothing like that day! 😀 <3
Sounds like you love the snow Colleen!
I do. I grew up with it. I really missed it. 💗
Oh, I grew up with the sun! So I really miss that! 🙂
I remember how gray England was. Here in the mountains it is quite sunny. Cold, but sunny. 😀💗
Love haiku’s Colleen. This one almost makes me love snow as well.
Ha, Ha! We have to look at it every way we can to turn it into a positive! Happy late Thanksgiving my Kentucky Angel. <3
In response to the need for more fluid in your area, I am hereby forwarding any and all snow we were anticipating, your way. No need for a specific address, I will merely allow the snow to have fun finding those parched areas and settle in! Cheers 🙂
Ha, Ha. I was writing this for the drought stricken folks in California. Let’s send it to them! Deal? It is already snowing here… lightly, but still snowing. <3 😀
Trajectory revised!
LOL! You are awesome!! ⛄❄💗
Brilliant haiku Colleen!
Thanks, Ritu. These are always so fun! <3
☺
Wonderful Haiku and photo!
Thank you Lyn! You just have to make the snow a positive. <3
Oh yes that is so true!
Great image and haiku. Good the weather is getting better.
Thanks. The poor Californian’s. 😯❄⛄❄
I suspect you were missing that snow while in Florida. Enjoy. Happy that California is getting some needed precip. ☺
By the looks of Colorado, they need some moisture too, Van. We surely missed the snow. 💗
I’m in SoCal. We’ve had some rain but I don’t think quite enough. Thank you for your kind words though.
Let’s hope your drought ends soon. 💗
Great Haiku.. Good news the drought is breaking for you. We certainly need a drought breaker in in South East Australia, with our hottest year on record, El Nino kicking in and rarely does it rain
That is good news for California. I am in Colorado, but that works for here too. ❤
Here we’ve had (still this morning) plenty of rain. I’ll try and send some there too…:) Nice to see you haikus back
Thanks, Olga. We have about 4 or 5 inches of snow. Still snowing. My daughter lives in California. The drought has been terrible for them.

We are heading into a drought here in Central Victoria, Australia, I think. We don’t get snow here (not normally) and it’s hard for me to imagine a drought breaking with snow instead of rain! Love your Haiku, Colleen. Thanks for dropping in to my blog.
Christine, how nice to meet you. Yes, the mountains in California get the snow first which eventually becomes water for the entire state. It is a sad state of affairs. I live in Colorado and we have our own issues with drought. As you can see, we have been getting much-needed snow here in the mountains. I hope your drought breaks. It is hard on everyone. Take care. <3
It’s only just beginning, and it’s the official first day of Summer tomorrow. Maybe it’ll just be a short one this time around. Fingers crossed. Lovely to meet you, too, Colleen.
Very nice haiku, Colleen. I love the nature aspect of it. 🙂
Thanks, Vashti. Something different.😘😍💗
Different is always good. 😉
