Waiting For Love

The woman –

All ebony hair, long and hanging down

Stands –

At the edge of an emotional abyss

Waiting –

For the terror to subside

And for her heart to stop breaking.

The man –

All muscled and fair, surrounded by a dark aura of intensity

Stands –

Bracing for the worst

Waiting –

For the storm of emotions to ebb

And for his heart to stop beating so loudly.

For some, the love of a good man or woman wanes

Simply from unscrupulous choices made in life

At a moment’s notice without thought or care

Or remembering what it felt like to

Stand –

Waiting –

For love.

    1. My own creation. I wanted to show the division and the starkness of the feelings. I love free verse poetry. I dreamed these words last night. I don’t know why, the creative juices were flowing again. 😀 Thanks for reading it. 😀 ❤

    1. Thanks, Van. My creative processes are working again slowly… I have to get back to writing my book. These poems get me back into the swing of things. ❤

        1. Very true. In college, I wrote many papers during sleep and got up and transcribed my words. Sometimes I solved accounting problems at work that way too. I guess I have to mull on it. 😀
