This week, I must admit I have been tired and stressed. So much so, that it was with great joy I saw our prompt words this week: future and give. Nice positive sounding words. Just what I need to pep up my writing! Thanks, Ronovan!
I like to call this, “An Ode to Novel Writing.”
Thanks for popping in for a visit today. It is always great to see you all!

An avid reader, Colleen M. Chesebro rekindled her love of writing poetry after years spent working in the accounting industry. These days, she loves crafting syllabic poetry, flash fiction, and creative fiction and nonfiction.
In addition to poetry books, Chesebro’s publishing career includes participation in various anthologies featuring short stories, flash fiction, and poetry. She’s an avid supporter of her writing community on Word Craft Poetry.com by organizing and sponsoring a weekly syllabic poetry challenge, called #TankaTuesday, where participants experiment with traditional and current forms of Japanese and American syllabic poetry.
Chesebro is an assistant editor of The Congress of the Rough Writers Flash Fiction Anthology & Gitty Up Press, a micro-press founded by Charli Mills and Carrot Ranch.
In January 2022, Colleen founded Unicorn Cats Publishing Services to assist poets and authors in creating eBooks and print books for publication. In addition, she creates affordable book covers for Kindle and print books.
Chesebro lives in the house of her dreams in mid-Michigan surrounded by the Great Lakes with her husband and two (unicorn) cats, Chloe & Sophie.

Beautiful Haiku, Colleen! Take care of yourself. Perhaps a nice walk to the Fairy Swamp would relax you, especially if you take along a glass of wine. 🙂 Hugs,
Michelle, I did my walk this morning and I do feel much better. I tend to overdo… It is about 90 degrees F. with 90% humidity. It feels like 96 out! Whew! I am working on my book today and tomorrow. I thank you for your friendship. Just lots going on. It will all work out in the end. 😀 Thank you, my sweet, friend. ❤
Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling tired and stressed Colleen, hope you’re feeling better. Yes, like you I find this weeks words particularly cheering especially as an old friend of mine has just had a baby girl. This event and Ronovan’s words inspired my haiku this week.:)
Marjorie, I do love when Ron’s words come through to mimic life. Life is stressful sometimes and there is nothing we can do, but roll with. Roll, I shall! LOL! I have to see yours. 💖😊
Lovely haiku. And the ode…. they say you can’t go to places if you don’t leave the shore behind, and I guess it’s right. I’m pleased to read you’re feeling better today. Big hugs. ♥
Thanks, Olga. My Ron has some health issues we need to work out. Some days it is just too busy. I got some extra sleep and feel ready to tackle anything. Well, almost anything! LOL! Thanks for the hugs. I am sending some back to you. 💖😉
Hope things improve, Colleen. All the best!
