Hello everyone! Welcome to Colleen’s Coffee Klatch. Where I grew up, the Kaffee klatsch was all the rage. Folks (mostly women) would get together, share a cup of coffee, and catch up on their lives. Thanks so much for stopping by to share a cup of coffee and a chat. Whenever I can, I like […]

The snow, rough and windswept in places, makes my peaceful walk evaporate. At the park, thick ice seals the sky’s reflections on the pond, reminding me of the places in my heart where I hide the old draconian memories. Like shadows, I keep those emotions in the dark, so they never take hold. It’s time […]

Imbolc is the third sabbat holiday, using Samhain as the starting point for the beginning of the Pagan new year. We celebrate this sabbat between January 31st and February 2nd. Imbolc is found at the midway point between the Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox. In many regions, it was regarded as a season unto itself, […]

I thought it was funny because in haiku you want to have an opposite. My opposite is that I can’t rhyme, even though I did! LOL!

Mel, I love haiku! The fact that you should have an opposite in your haiku and mine is that I can’t rhyme, even though I did was perfect! (At least I thought so, LOL!) I am glad it made you smile. Thanks so much. ❤

It’s my pleasure 😀 I have a lot to learn about writing haiku, but I’m exposed to so many great examples that I know I’ll get there in the end! I completely agree with you – it was spot on ❤

Well personally, I think – you make a FINE rhyming poet… (and anyway WHO SAYS poems need to rhyme – it can truly be a curse at times!! LOL)

LOL! Thanks. The idea is to have an opposite in haiku and mine was the rhyming bit, that rhymed anyway. LOL!

Fabulous! Although quite different you’ve reminded me of a poem by Lope De Vega (in Spanish) about having to write a sonnet. The whole poem is about how difficult it is to write and in the last line he says… and count that’s 14 lines and it’s done. A perfect way to learn how to write one. http://www.poemas-del-alma.com/lope-de-vega-un-soneto-me-manda-hacer-violante.htm

That is a great definition of a sonnet. I had to laugh because in haiku we should have an opposite. My opposite was that I could not rhyme, even though I did! LOL!

love the pun! And the fun, but I just gotta tell you Hun, rhyme is not necessary in poetry for it to make a run.
