I thought it was funny because in haiku you want to have an opposite. My opposite is that I can’t rhyme, even though I did! LOL!

Haha…. then that’s the perfect opposite!!! 😉

Simply delightful! I feel like this every time I attempt a poem. I like the fun and humour in this. Thanks for sharing 😀

Mel, I love haiku! The fact that you should have an opposite in your haiku and mine is that I can’t rhyme, even though I did was perfect! (At least I thought so, LOL!) I am glad it made you smile. Thanks so much. ❤

It’s my pleasure 😀 I have a lot to learn about writing haiku, but I’m exposed to so many great examples that I know I’ll get there in the end! I completely agree with you – it was spot on ❤

Well personally, I think – you make a FINE rhyming poet… (and anyway WHO SAYS poems need to rhyme – it can truly be a curse at times!! LOL)

LOL! Thanks. The idea is to have an opposite in haiku and mine was the rhyming bit, that rhymed anyway. LOL!

Fabulous! Although quite different you’ve reminded me of a poem by Lope De Vega (in Spanish) about having to write a sonnet. The whole poem is about how difficult it is to write and in the last line he says… and count that’s 14 lines and it’s done. A perfect way to learn how to write one. http://www.poemas-del-alma.com/lope-de-vega-un-soneto-me-manda-hacer-violante.htm

That is a great definition of a sonnet. I had to laugh because in haiku we should have an opposite. My opposite was that I could not rhyme, even though I did! LOL!

I didn’t even think of it sounding like a limerick. You’re right it does! Thanks. This one was fun! ❤

love the pun! And the fun, but I just gotta tell you Hun, rhyme is not necessary in poetry for it to make a run.
