Pink Fairy Slippers

Pink Fairy Slippers

The first sign of spring –

as pink fairy slippers bloom,

winter grieves the cold.

I had a lovely walk this morning.  The air was crisp and laden with moisture from the approaching rain.  Not far from Fairy Swamp were these delicate tiny, pink blooms hanging from the bushes.  I do not know their real name, so I have chosen “fairy slippers,” to be their name until I learn what they really are.

The clouds are grey now, and the rain has begun to fall.  A warm southern breeze is blowing in from the Gulf of Mexico, chasing the cold back to the northern latitudes.  Spring is slowly showing its beauty.  WOO HOO!

Many thanks to Amanda, from Unique Art Chic, for hosting her fabulous, Word Snap Weekly, where we writers can share our photography and poetry!  Join in! It is fun and addicting too!

    1. Thank you. I could not get a good closeup of the tiny flowers. They did look like little slippers. 🙂

  1. Sweet post. I don’t know what the flower is, but I really like Fairy-slippers for the name. They do indeed look like a tink-foot could dance on sunbeams in them. 🙂
