Colleen’s poetry has appeared in various anthologies and journals including “Hedgerow-a journal of small poems,” and “Poetry Treasures1 & 2” a collection of poetry from the poet/author guests of Robbie Cheadle on the “Treasuring Poetry” blog series on “Writing to be Read." Colleen published “Word Craft: Prose & Poetry, The Art of Crafting Syllabic Poetry,” which illustrates how to write various syllabic poetry forms used in her Tanka Tuesday challenges; and a collection of poetry, flash fiction, and short stories called, “Fairies, Myths & Magic: A Summer Celebration,” dedicated to the Summer Solstice. She contributed a short story called “The Changeling,” in the “Ghostly Rites Anthology 2020,” published by Plaisted Publishing House. Colleen created Word Craft Poetry as an uplifting community where poets can learn the basics of writing Japanese and American syllabic poetry by sharing their own poetic inspiration on their blogs through the challenge written in one of the following forms: haiku, senryu, haiga, tanka, gogyohka, haibun, tanka prose, renga, solo renga, cinquain, and its variations, Etheree, nonet, shadorma, Badger Hexastich, and Abhanga. Poets receive positive feedback from their peers who inspire each other to stretch their creativity. Colleen’s syllabic poetry has appeared in “Hedgerow, a Journal of Small Poems,” and in “Poetry Treasures,” and “Poetry Treasures 2: Relationships,” including several other online publications. She’s also received several awards for her flash fiction pieces from the yearly Carrot Ranch.com rodeo events.   2. Meredith – Clarksville, TN – A Missouri born, Tennessee reared, die-hard Southern lady and a Christian by faith. I am graced out by God. Be a life-long learner! This has been my battle cry for as long as I can remember. I retired from teaching, but not from learning. Last year in the church library a friend working with me mentioned her writing group. My ears perked up! Tell me more, I implored. The outcome of our conversation was an invitation to attend a meeting. The results of the visit led to membership. Along with that came an online shopping trip at Amazon to purchase craft books for writing. I had written over the years for the pleasure of children, for professional reasons and for recording in my journal a spiritual journey I began when I was 9 years old. I have learned over the years to listen for the still voice of God urging me on the path He chooses for me. The familiar comfort and ease of obedience has accompanied my venture into Christian writing. Come along with me and enjoy the journey. I am published! Heavenly Humor for the Cat Lover's Soul and Heavenly Humor for the Dieter's Soul. Update - 2014 I dreamed of writing a novel. I started and worked well at first. Ah, but then life happened and circumstances changed. My life is surrendered to and obedient to where God calls me. I don't mourn the loss of the dream; I embrace another path.
