Dorne Whale, of “Writing Dorne, Putting Life Into Words,” has graciously nominated me for a Very Inspiring Blogger Award. Dorne and I stumbled upon each other in the blogosphere of WordPress in the early days of my blog. You could say I was still unsure of myself and did not know where I was going with my blog or my writing. She pointed me in the right direction and because of her I met many new bloggers.
I began to gain confidence and I learned from the talented writers, poets, photographers, artists, gardeners, and chefs. Thank you Dorne for helping me gain the confidence to show the world what I hold in the writings of my heart. Visiting with Dorne on her blog is a great experience. She shares her walks in the English countryside, talks about her professional writing career, and even shares her humor and music! I enjoy her company and I know you will too.
I guess I had better get on with this award criteria. Here are the rules:
1. Thank the blogger who nominated you, and link back to their very inspiring site.
2. Mention the rules.
3. Nominate who you think should receive this lovely award (and let them know on their sites).
4. Tell the blogging world something they don’t know about you.
I’m nominating the following bloggers who have most inspired me:
http://aopinionatedman.com/author/aopinionatedman/ Even though A Opinionated Man won’t accept the award, I want him to know that all the help he has given me has been greatly appreciated. Besides that, this is just a great, funny blog. Harsh Reality inspires me to be a better blogger! Thank you!
http://ronovanwrites.wordpress.com/ Another inspiring blog. Ron inspires me to write poetry. He has a Weekly Haiku Challenge that has opened up a whole new world of writing to me. Thank you!
http://weight2lose2013.wordpress.com/ This blog is great. Loads of good music too, as Rob is a musician – a bass player no less. No matter what I post, I always get a friendly reply. Thanks for always encouraging me!
http://darkecologies.com/ Craig Hickman’s poetry speaks to your soul. His works have inspired me to visit the darker side of life and show it in my poetry. Thank you!
http://jennifernicholewells.com/ As an aspiring photographer, Jennifer Nichole Wells has given me the confidence to put my photos out there in her weekly One Word Photo Challenge. Her photography is stunning and I am learning so much about composition and color. Thank you Jennifer!
http://randalane.wordpress.com/ I know Ronald does not accept awards however, he has inspired me to become a better writer every time I read his poetry. Thank you for showing the way!
http://lindaghill.wordpress.com/ Linda hosts the Stream of Consciousness Saturday writing stream. She has inspired me to just let the words flow and to be more creative. Our writings are like a huge brain storm – you just write whatever is in your mind at the time. Thank you for your weekly inspiration!
Now for something you don’t know about me…
I absolutely hate to drive!!! I know it is crazy but, what can I say? I was a foster kid so I did not get my driver’s license in high school like everyone else. I was 30 when I finally got my license! So, there you have it. I have a driver’s license and I hate to drive! ❤
Thanks for visiting. I am always glad to see you!

Thanks for your kind comments Colleen. You have a lot of talent and have a brilliant blog.
I didn’t learn to drive until I was nearly 40. But, I love driving…which is just as well as I do all of the driving these days. I get lost a lot though…lousy sense of direction. x

Thank you Dorne. I just hate driving! Silly but what do you do? Something bad must have happened in a past life 😉

Thank you so much, Colleen! Between my crazy tidbits and mostly awful music, you’ve stayed and supported me. I am honored to accept this nomination from you.

Congratulations on another award, Colleen.
I hate driving as well. It took me 3 goes to pass my driving test and I was forced to take it. If I can, I always jump in the passenger seat and admire the views from the car. Far more stressful I think.

Oh me too. I feel better knowing I am not the only one who hates it. Thanks Hugh! 🙂

Congratulations on your Most Inspiring Blogger Award. The more I learn about you the more impressed I am. I think that just because driving is a big thing to many people doesn’t mean you have to like it. I struggle with my not wanting to cook and entertain like most of the women I know. I wonder how many people are in closets of our own making?

Thank you for your kind words. I just can’t explain my issues with driving. It has always been an issue to me. I can drive as long as there is not much traffic. I suppose I should have been alive in a different era. 🙂

That is so nice of you to say. I like the challenge because as a beginner, I have to think about how it looks and my presentation. Always fun to learn new things and stretch my wings. 🙂

That’s exactly what I was hoping the photo challenge would assist with – creative thinking and pushing yourself to always take more pictures. 🙂
